Figured it out; it worked by targeting the key’s scan code, as you suggested–

For the record, I think things may have also been affected by the fact that I was running Micro$oft Intellitype Pro (so much for the “intelli-” part…).

I don’t see why it would be different, Launch_Mail is a Windows setting, so TM would have to release its own software to do it differently. You don’t have a typo or some other line that conflicts? Have you tried just setting:

Launch_Mail::1

…and then opening Notepad just to see if it works? If it types “1″, then the problem is with what you’re trying to set it to. I think there’s a way to target the actual keycode if you have to. Check the AHK site or ask on the forum.

I just bought a typematrix keyboard and am very thankful for your ahk guide here. However, I don’t seem to be able to reprogram the mail launch key by calling it Launch_Mail as you did above. Is a different code now in use? Any ideas?

And one last thing: in mentioning that the “warm-up” gentleman was not part of the Beckoning project, I meant that only as clarification between what I created and had control over, and what I did not. I do not, however, mean to diss him. I just came across your review and I can’t help but respond. Basically, I’m bummed to hear this is how you experienced the gathering. Suffice it to say that my hope and intention for all those there was pretty much a 180 from “cliche” and “offensive.” I do want to thank you for coming though, and giving it a chance. A couple things in terms of fine print… a) the “warm up” gentleman at the beginning was there on his own, and had nothing to do with me or my project. b) it was not a red towel; it was a small red carpet/mat. c) though it seemed/felt to you to be poorly planned, many, many weeks of concepting, writing and planning went into the evening. I suppose that makes your comments all the more disheartening: it would have been easier to swallow if i had in fact just been “winging” it! Oh, well. I am pleased you liked and appreciated the tiny letter. (The letters were created by Lea Redmond’s World’s Smallest Postal Service.) Finally, stay tuned for the video, which has, as you predict, pretty music, slow motion and soft narration. my best, amy k.r.

Haha, actually in that shot he was up on the second floor, and I was taking the picture and holding the rope with my foot. I was far enough away that if it had fallen, it would have hit the basement stairs, which would have looked like one of those “falling piano” scenes in the movies.

Damn! Wile E. Coyote should take lessons from you guys. Although I admit that I was waiting for pliSkiNAKE to get squashed under the couch after that long exposure shot but well… :)

P.S. Oh and about pliSkiNAKE getting squashed instead of TG part… Not that I have something against pliSkiNAKE but it’s just that TG seems more “beep, beep!” kind of a guy than he is so…
